Posting to various blogs and uploading images to different accounts used to be time-consuming and tiring, but with Mars Edit it is now easy and fast.
Using an on-line Blogging site such as Blogger can at times be a slow process of editing, posting and re-editing. Additionally, there are moments when an Internet connection is not always available, yet it would be useful to be able to write or edit your blog posts. One answer to this blogging dilemma may be a small, but powerful blog editor for the Mac called Mars Edit. The program is the product of Daniel Jalkut´s Red Sweater Software company and it allows for off-line composing, re-editing, image uploading and multiple posting. Multiple PostingIf you blog between several different blogger accounts, such as Wordpress, TypePad or LiveJournal, then the one interface of Mars Edit makes posting, editing and uploading that much simpler and quicker. Once you have set up each account you do not need to individually sign in and out nor remember the different settings for each blog. Multiple posting then becomes fast and effortless. Mars edit will work with most of the more popular blogging sites including those mentioned above as well as TypePad, Movable Type, Drupal and Vox as well as many others. Image WorkMars Edit allows for image insertion from within its own program. To insert an image into a new post simply drag the picture onto Mars Edit´s window, tell it where you wish it to be aligned and post it up. Because there are no editing tools included with the program, If you need to crop or resize the image you will have to do any image editing beforehand. However, Mars Edit will keep copies of all images uploaded in its image library for future use. There is also a Flickr tab in the latest version of Mars Edit that enables you to select images from within your Flickr account. Daniel Jalkut hopes in the future to expand this functionality to support plugins for additional modules. Blogging about BlogsThe Bookmarklet button in Mars Edit is an optional addition to your web browser tool bar. This button enables you to select text on the web -- another blog post for example -- and then by pressing the Bookmarklet button, Mars Edit is opened up and the copied text is pasted into a new post window ready to be commented on and uploaded directly to your own blog. As more people develop the skills to manage several blog sites, there is a need for an overview application that can keep track of all postings and allow for fast off-line editing: For Mac users Mars Edit is that program.
